Great grandmother to Brooke, Whitney and Reid. Survived by her sisters Gwen Veale and Lois (Lloyd Thomas). Predeceased by her parents John and Ruby Wakelin, her son Roger (1987), her sister Verdun (late Murray McCallum), her brothers Bill Wakelin (late Marion) and Ray Wakelin. She is also survived by many special nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbours. Resting at ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME (124 King St. E., Oshawa) with visitation to take place on Tuesday December 20th from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, December 21st at 1pm. Interment to follow at Thornton Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations to Northumberland Hills Hospital or the charity of your choice are greatly appreciated.

James Shea James Shea of Aylmer, an educator and minority language rights advocate, died on Saturday. He was 76.Chairman of the Western Quebec School Board and retired superintendent of the Ottawa Catholic School Board, Shea was also the former president of the Quebec Communities Group Network (QCGN) and immediate past president of the Regional Association of West Quebecers.
