Lorne (Barb) Bateman of Lethbridge and Karen (Frederick) Bernhardt of Taber; thirteen grandchildren and thirty eight great grandchildren.Marge was born August 22, 1920 at Fort Macleod, Alberta to Melissa and Albert Bawden. She loved to swim in the Old Man River, skating in the winter and playing baseball with her friends. Her parents operated a bakery in the centre of town and also delivered milk by a horse drawn wagon. Marge went to Vulcan to work as a temporary telephone operator and ended up staying for sixty two years. She married Leon William Bateman on December 4, 1942, who passed away in March 1966. They had two children Lorne (Barb) Bateman and Karen (Frederick) Bernhardt. Part of the time she lived on a farm northeast of Vulcan and in town. She had to chop wood, carry water and used a old wringer washing machine. Marge married Frederick Puzey of Champion on May 3, 1979, he passed away October 13, 1990. In 2003 she moved to Brooks to be near Lorne and family. In 2017 Marge moved to Taber where she has resided until the time of her passing. Arrangements in care of Southland Funeral Chapel, Taber. Charlie " Hartman, 75, of Collison went to be with the Lord on Thursday (March 21, 2019) at home surrounded by his wife and daughters. He was bornon Nov. 5, 1943, in Champaign, the son of Ernest and Alberta (Grove) Hartman. He was united in marriage to Ruth Troxell on Nov. 26, 1994. She survives. Also surviving are his daughters, Jessica (Rick) Breitenfeldt, Kristin (Mitch) Allen, Kate (Leon) Jess and Teresa (Steve) Evans. Papa's grandchildren loved him to the moon and back. He was always full of life's loving stories for them. He believed children are the heritage of the Lord. He loved Cameron Ackerson, Kaitlyn Breitenfeldt, Colton Breitenfeldt, Lillian Jess, Khloe Jess, Brinley Allen, Steele Allen, Jacob Evans and Joshua Evans. His surviving siblings are Mary Hafner, Patty Wakefield, Diana Thrush, Rob Hartman, Sue Hartman and Judy Lynn. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandsons, Cody Breitenfeldt and Zachery Evans. Charlie loved Jesus with his whole heart. He was a steadfast man of God. As a boy he worked tirelessly alongside his dad. He worked as a carpenter before going on to manage the horse farm at the University of Illinois until retirement in 2002.
